Natural Gas Compression Technology
The Natural Gas Compression Technology program has two program options for students interested in the Natural Gas Compression Technology field, the Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S) degree in Natural Gas Compression Technology or the Certificate. They are designed to prepare the student
for employment in the natural gas compression industry. The student will acquire the ability to
troubleshoot, repair and maintain compression equipment as a result of lecture and hands-on
training in compression theory, pneumatics, compressor mechanics, gas engine mechanics,
electric motors, precision measuring, alignment, vibration analysis, oil analysis, balancing
and safety. The student will also receive training in related industrial technology courses. A
graduate of this program with a one-year certificate or two-year degree will be a valuable asset
to the natural gas compression industry.
