Program for 21 Credit Emergency Management Certificate
Emergency Management specialists coordinate disaster or crisis management activities. Emergency
Management training will consist of preparing emergency plans and procedures for responding to
natural, technological, or terrorism events, and coordinating consequence management after the disaster.
A certificate in Emergency Management is designed to enhance the capabilities of federal, state,
local, and tribal government officials, volunteer organizations, and the public and private sectors to
minimize the impact of natural or human-caused disasters on the public. The courses are structured to
meet the needs of this diverse audience with an emphasis on how the various elements work together in
emergencies to save lives and protect property.
