Western currently offers two certificate options and one A.A.S. degree in the electrical and instrumentation field - a 24 hour Certificate Program in Electricity, a 36 hour Certificate in Electronics/ Instrumentation/Control Technology, and an A.A.S. Degree in Electrical & Instrumentation Technology.

The 24 hour certificate Program in Electricity fulfills the state of Wyoming’s education requirements for apprentice electricians preparing for their Journeyman’s License. The program is designed for students who are currently working as full time electrical apprentices and is a succession of eight, 3 credit night classes focusing on the NEC code regulations. The 36 hour Certificate in Electronics/Instrumentation/Control Technology and the A.A.S. Degree in Electrical & Instrumentation are designed to provide the student with a wide variety of electrical courses to prepare them for a job as an electrical technician. The need for trained electrical technicians continues to climb in a wide variety of industries including; power plants, oil and gas production facilities, mining operations, and chemical processing plants. This program strives to meet the needs of the various industries. The types of students receiving his certificate and/or degree ranges from the traditional student who is interested in a career in the electrical field to electricians who are currently working in industry and are upgrading their skills.
