Gena Moser-ClarkGena Moser-Clark
Instructor of Instrumentation
Office: 1341
Gena grew up in Casper, and received a Presidential Scholarship to attend the University of Wyoming. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering with the Bio option from there. Upon receiving her degree, she was granted a Fellowship from the Department of Energy and started to pursue a Master’s Degree. However, at the time, the lure of making money was too great and after fulfilling her fellowship obligations and completing 8 months of post-graduate work, FMC hired her to work at their Kemmerer Coke Plant. She was actually the Coke Plant’s 1st Electrical Engineer, 1st female engineer, and later she became their 1st female foreman. After about 2½ years, Gena transferred to FMC’s Green River facility. She has held many positions over the years including; Electrical Maintenance Engineer, Preventative Maintenance Engineer, Maintenance Coordinator, Production Coordinator, and Maintenance Planner. In Fall 2006, she began teaching the Electrical Apprenticeship course two nights/week. During her 2nd semester teaching night class, she realized that she wanted to change careers and teach full time. So, after nearly 15 years with FMC, Gena changed careers and became the Instrumentation Instructor here at Western. In addition to her BS degree in Electrical Engineering and 15 years work experience, Gena is also a Level I Certified Infrared Thermographer.
