My day job is to serve as the Vice President for Student Success at WWCC.  I have been here for over 30 years in various positions and have been in charge of the college’s marketing effort for much of this time.  Marketing is a passion for me and there is nothing more exciting than learning more about how a business functions and moves their products or services, or how a consumer thinks and makes “buying decisions”.  Marketing provides the ability to be creative and the chance to use well developed organizational skills.  It is the best of all worlds.I have also served as a consultant for a variety of local and regional businesses regarding their marketing efforts and find I learn as much as I give from each experience.  Of course, every experience I have as a consumer becomes fair game for discussion in my classes.

Perry has been at Western since 2009 and has over 25 years of financial and accounting experience, as a “Fortune 50” company executive, small business owner and nonprofit officer.  He teaches accounting, finance and economics, and assists a local public accounting firm doing tax accounting.  Perry has an MBA from University of Chicago Booth School of Business in finance and marketing, and has a Bachelor of Science degree in economics and finance from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.  He also worked internationally in Canada for three years.  When not teaching, he’s at his other home in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, skiing, mountain biking, gardening or wine collecting - depending on the season.  He is married with a college age daughter.
