The department has approximately 7 full-time faculty members forming groups with interest in Pure Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, and Mathematics Education.

The department offers an Associate of Science Degree with emphasis in Mathematics. This degree will provide preparation toward a four-year degree with the advantage of small classes, small lab sections, and individual attention. The suggested program of study is comparable to the first two years of mathematics and statistics courses required by the typical university. Many of our students receiving Associates Degrees go on to universities and find employment in academia and industry.

In addition to the department’s traditional mathematics program, a wide variety of remedial and developmental courses are taught. The Mathematics Advancement Center (MAC) is a specially designed classroom and computer lab that is dedicated to these types of courses. See the Mathematics Advancement Center link for more information.
