Soccer Coach
Jeff Atkinson
Head Coach Jeff Atkinson starts his third year with
the Western Wyoming men’s soccer team. He has compiled a 13-17-4 (.441)
overall record while at Western. The 2005 season he led the Western
team to a Wyoming State Club Championship. Coach Atkinson and the WWC
Mustangs played their first intercollegiate season in 2006, finishing
third in Region IX. Coach Atkinson is very excited about the upcoming
season and the progress that WWCC has made to become a great soccer
program for years to come.
Jeff Atkinson played soccer while at Evanston High
School and the University of Wyoming. He earned a bachelor degree from
the University of Wyoming in Spanish education. Jeff is a Spanish
teacher at Rock Springs High School. Coach Atkinson also coaches the
Rock Springs High School boy’s soccer team. He has been a part of that
coaching staff for the past 6 years guiding his team to reach state
three of the past six years.

Assistant Coach Tyler Gilmore starts his first
years as the Assistant Coach for the Mustang Soccer team. Coach Gilmore
has also played two years for the soccer team here at Western. He
played in 2005 when the team was a club and won the Wyoming State Club
Championship. He also played during the 2006 season, which was the
soccer teams’ first intercollegiate season. He started as a defender
for the Spartans (now known as the Mustangs) in both seasons. He is
excited for the upcoming year and knows that this team has great
potential and is going to do very good this season.
Coach Tyler played soccer while at Evanston High
School and graduated from there in 2005. He has since been going to
school here at Western and has received his Associate’s of Science
degree from Western. He is currently taking classes this year at
Western and plans to move on to the University of Wyoming and hopefully
make it into medical school one day.
