Information Technology

Internet connections in the Residence Halls

Western Wyoming Community College provides Internet connectivity in all of the residence halls. In order to provide the best possible service for all the network clients at WWCC you must meet all the requirements. WWCC maintains the right to change or waive these rights without notification. Information Technology may terminate connection without notice for non-compliance. Whenever possible, Information Technology will attempt to give prior notification before terminating any connections.

Purchasing and Installing Your Ethernet Cable and/or Network Card

If you live in Rocky Mountain Hall
You will first need to purchase an Ethernet cable (NOT a phone cable, please see picture below). Ethernet Cable

Your computer will have an ethernet port for this cable (see picture below).
            Ethernet Port
If you live in Teton, Snowy Range, White Mountain
If your computer does not have a built-in wireless card (check your hardware configuration to see if you have a network adapter built-in) you will need to purchase a wireless card. The card you purchase will depend on whether or not you use a laptop or a PC. You may purchase your card from Walmart, K-Mart, Staples, Radio Shack or the college bookstore. You can install your card by following the instructions that were included with your card. Please note many laptops have this capability built in. Check with your manufacturer to verify before purchasing a new card.
The Information Technology Department is unable to install this card for you but can provide you with information to help get you going. Please call or email the Help Desk if you have any questions.
