PROCEDURE 5430E:
SUSPENSION OR PROBATION
Western Wyoming Community College places student on probation under a variety of
circumstances, including academic, financial aid and disciplinary reasons.
Students must make satisfactory academic progress. Academic progress is defined in Policy 5240C. Those who do not make satisfactory academic progress go through a three-step process that culminates in academic suspension. (See Policy 5240C.) International student must maintain satisfactory academic progress as defined by their immigration status.
Any students receiving financial aid must maintain the academic standards detailed in their aid contract (See Policy 5310A). Students who do not meet these standards may be placed on financial aid probation and ultimately have their aid suspended.
Students are expected to maintain appropriate standards of student conduct as discussed in Policy 5420A. When a student violates those standards, he or she is subject to discipline that may include probation and/or suspension from the College. The College can immediately suspend or dismiss a student for disciplinary reasons when the student's actions are considered to be detrimental to its education purpose or when the safety of the student, other students or employees is an issue.
Students who feel that they did not receive due process, have the right to
appeal the decision under Policy 5430A.
