Dual Enrollment

High School Juniors and Seniors May Start NOW, Working on Their College Careers!!!

Saratoga and Encampment High School in conjunction with Western Wyoming Community College Outreach are providing opportunities for advanced students16 and older to take Dual Enrollment classes.

How does it work? Courses are taught online through the Extended Education Department at Western Wyoming Community College. Students work one period a day and/or on their own time to complete the course. Upon completion, they may receive both high school elective credit and college credit for the course. Note: Class requirements will be the same for all students in the class regardless of age.

Can any high school student take these courses? No. Class enrollment is restricted to those students who are 16 or older with at least a 3.25 grade point average. In addition, it is necessary to register through WWCC.  If the student is interested in Math, English and/or Political Science the compass exam must be passed if they do not have the appropriate ACT/SAT scores are not available.

How much does this cost the student? The student is responsible for the tuition, fees and books needed for the course.  Upon completion of the course with a ‘C’ or better the tuition and fees will be reimbursed to the student.

Internet Courses

You can take an online class on your own schedule via the Internet at home, local Outreach site, or anywhere that offers Internet access, such as your local library.  Although you will generally never have to show up in a classroom, you will have assignments due on specified dates.  Some Internet classes require tests to be proctored at specific locations and during specific times.  To find out if the class you are considering has such a requirement, go to http://www.wwcc.wy.edu/dist_ed/nt.htm , scroll down to the class, and click on the “Special Requirements” hyperlink.  Most courses follow a full semester schedule and are NOT self-paced.

To succeed in an Internet class you will need:

Strong time-management skills,

Reasonable computer skills,
