Support, Disability, & Counseling Center
Karen K. Flaim
Disability Support Services Specialist
Originally raised in a small town northwest of Chicago, upon high school graduation, I attended Denver Automotive and Diesel College in Denver, Colorado. I worked as an underground diesel mechanic for FMC Corporation. Re-location afforded a career change into financial lending, and I was ultimately the Branch Manager of AVCO Financial Services, Inc.
I later enrolled at Western Wyoming Community College and earned my Associate of Arts degree. A new career opportunity began at Southwest Wyoming Rehabilitation Center, a rehabilitation agency for developmentally disabled adults. During my eleven year tenure, I was a Case Manager, Day Habilitation Coordinator, and Human Resource Director. I completed my Bachelor of Science degree, utilizing the off-campus degree program through the University of Wyoming.
Currently, as the Disability Support Services Specialist for WWCC, I enjoy meeting and working with students. I'm proud to be the Faculty Advisor for the ADA Support Group. I encourage all students receiving accommodations to join our bi-monthly sessions. Please stop in at the Support, Disability, & Counseling Center to inquire about services and to learn more about our on-campus ADA Support Group.
