My name is Heather Sanders and Wyoming is the place that I call home! I was born and raised in this great State. Initially, I grew up here in Rock Springs until 1990. Then my family packed up and moved to Jackson Hole where I lived until I was finished with High School. After graduation, I attended Western Wyoming Community College on a basketball scholarship. During the season I was plagued by injury so I transferred to Montana State University where I graduated in 2005 with my Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. From there, I taught in Las Vegas, Nevada for one year and then here in Rock Springs for three. I am currently obtaining my Master’s degree of Education in Adult Education & Instructional Technology.

Hobbies: Hockey, Golf, Snowboarding, Reading, Writing and Enjoying Music

I am a Wyoming native, born and raised in Riverton, Wyoming.  I moved to Rock Springs in 1991 to join my husband who is the Safety Manager at Black Butte Coal.  We initially lived on campus here at WWCC while my husband attended school.  I spent 14 years working in a non-profit rehabilitation center for the developmentally disabled responsible for the oversight of safety, administrative services, maintenance services and governance compliance.  In addition, I spent 3 years working for a local communications company managing business operations and customer service.

I am married with two grown daughters and two granddaughters.  I enjoy the Wyoming lifestyle with its wide open spaces and, periodically, attempt to refine my skills in the game of golf.

As the Admissions Assistant, I enjoy the opportunity to meet and interact with both local and international students.  I look forward to the challenges of assisting students with the admissions and acceptance process as they enter the realm of higher education.

I grew up in Pueblo, Colorado and moved to Rock Springs in 1993.  I have spent the past fifteen years in the insurance industry working as a property and casualty claims adjuster.  Prior to moving to Wyoming I worked for a defense contractor in the contracts department and immediately following graduation from college I worked in retail as a Merchandise Manager for JCPenney Company.  I am married to Mike.  We have three children, two boys and one girl, and one child of the four-legged kind, a Labrador retriever.

Hobbies: Bussing my kids to their activities and watching them, reading, camping, hunting and skiing.

Education: Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with emphasis in marketing from Colorado State University-Pueblo.

I enjoy helping people and here at Western I will strive to make every student’s admissions process as simple as possible so they may get on with their job of learning.
